"Halito! Chinchigama! I am a retired "Multicultural Music Specialist" with 51 years of "classroom" instruction: PhD, Elem Ed. At present I am involved with such Native groups as the "Bayou LaCombe Choctaws" of the "Northshore Pontchartrain Lake", the "Atakapa-Ishak" of South Central and Western Louisiana, and the "Chitimacha" near Franklin, LA, in "ethnomusicology", researching Smithsonian Instutution "bulletins" and other possible sources of Native Amerindian tradtional (social, "folk") songs and chants and helping to preserve them by teaching them and trying to pass them on, especially to Native groups related to the music. I also demonstrate these "authentic" songs and chants at educational institutions and powwows. (Some of my friends call me "Dr.Tikonklo" ["Hummingbird"] since I enjoy singing.)
